18 Amazing photos of Annapurna Base Camp Trek, Nepal

Overview

Annapurna Base Camp Trek (ABC camp) is one of the most celebrated treks in Nepal—and for all the right reasons! This stunning trek can be approached via multiple routes and typically takes 7 to 10 days to complete. Covering approximately 65–75 kilometers, it takes trekkers through terraced villages, lush forests, and high alpine terrain—all the way up to 4,130 meters above sea level. For mountain lovers, Annapurna Base Camp Trek (ABC Trek) is nothing short of a dream come true.

1. Poon Hill sunrise

Poon Hill (3,210 meters), is a popular viewpoint on the Annapurna Base Camp trek in Nepal. The photo captures the iconic signpost at the summit, dusted with fresh snow. Behind it, the majestic Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges rise through the clouds, creating a dramatic Himalayan panorama. Trekkers often hike here at dawn to witness unforgettable sunrise views over the snow-covered peaks.

2. Jhinu Danda Hot Spring

Jhinu Danda is a scenic village located along the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) trekking route in Nepal. It sits at an elevation of approximately 1,780 meters (5,840 feet) and is best known for its natural hot springs, which lie about a 15–20 minute downhill walk from the village, beside the Modi Khola river.

The natural thermal baths are the main attraction. Built into stone pools along the river, the hot water is rich in minerals and offers a soothing break for tired legs—especially welcome after days of steep Himalayan trekking. Most trekkers stop at Jhinu Danda while descending from Annapurna Base Camp. It’s a popular overnight halt because of its relaxing ambiance and comfortable tea houses.

Lush forested hills, steep valleys, and the sound of the rushing Modi Khola create a peaceful atmosphere. On clear days, you can even catch glimpses of the Annapurna and Machapuchare peaks from higher parts of the village.

Tadapani is a picturesque hamlet perched on a ridge, known for its striking close-up views of the Himalayas. The snow-covered peak visible in the background is Machapuchare (Fishtail Peak), one of the most iconic mountains in the Annapurna range. At 6,993 meters, its distinct twin-summit shape resembles a fishtail, and the mountain is revered and considered unclimbable due to its sacred status in Nepal.
