• Gear selection strategies, clothing & layering systems
All learnings will be a combination of indoor theory with outdoor practice in the field. We will stay in a comfortable and warm hotel in the heart of the city, where we can recover well after a hard, cold day of climbing.

The Guides are trained and certified by professional mountaineering organizations and are skilled in teaching the necessary techniques and skills for Ice Climbing. Participants will receive personalized instruction and feedback from the team allowing them to improve their techniques and skills throughout the workshop. The founders of Adventure Pulse which is either Sauraj Jhingan or Samir Patham will be conducting this workshop along with the help of a team experienced in Mountaineering.
The Winter Climbing Workshop includes Lodging and Transportation arrangements for participants. You will be staying in a 3 Star Hotel in Leh which will have central heating under MAP Plan. Transportation will be provided everyday to and from climbing locations from the hotel.
You don’t need to buy technical climbing equipment as it will be rented out and the cost of that will be included in the package. The equipment will include a Climbing Harness, Crampons, Ice Axe, Ropes, Carabiners, Etc. You will also get detailed instructions and information of these equipment from our team.
The Workshop is for 6 days and 5 nights from Leh to Leh.
You will be pretty much at same elevation throughout the workshop which will be 3000 – 3500m which is the height at which Leh is situated.
Acclimatisation is nothing but adjusting to the weather and the altitude. Acclimatization is something which is very important before the workshop as Leh is situated at a significant height and coming from a Metro City into Leh can trigger AMS for most people. So it’s extremely important to drink lots of water after arriving in Leh. Since acclimatization is a big factor in Leh and for the participants to have a smooth workshop we dedicate the first two days adjusting to the weather. We do that by exploring the local area and doing hikes around Leh.
The best time for the Winter Climbing Workshop is in the month of January because that’s when the temperatures in Leh drop down to its lowest hence freezing the waterfalls turning them into ice. These ice waterfalls thus become climbing walls for Ice Climbers.
